Ashok Kumar Verma's campaign site says he has a background in teaching and online education, is a joint operator of a child care centre in Rutland, and has worked in customer service and parking operations at Kelowna International Airport. It lists a Bachelor of Education from UBC and volunteer roles with the 243 Ogopogo Air Cadets, the Navy League of Kelowna and Rutland Youth Soccer. The sources reviewed did not show any earlier run for elected office.
