Background
Compiled by Forward Kelowna from public sources, not written by the candidate. Checked October 7, 2026.
Jim Strachan says he grew up in Glenmore and graduated from Kelowna Secondary School in 1985. He says that after two degrees at UBC, he taught at Kelowna Secondary for 34 years as a teacher, coach and volunteer, and he recently retired. His campaign site lists teaching awards, including the Prime Minister's Award for Teaching Excellence. The sources reviewed did not show any earlier run for elected office.
